YMS 2025 Auditions Open

How would you like to play in Australia’s only national HIP youth orchestra?

Auditions open on Sunday, September 15 for ARCO’s Young Mannheim Symphonists National and State Academies, conducted by Rachael Beesley with co-director Nicole van Bruggen and esteemed ARCO faculty.

Over a week, participants will dive deeply into Romantic and Classical masterpieces.

They will make new friends and explore the skills, expressive techniques and research of Historically Informed Performance (HIP) and how it transforms music, emotion and creativity.

Applications close on October 27.

Hear some of Australia’s most brilliant young musicians and see YMS National and State Academies’ special music education in action.

The YMS 2024 NSW State Academy Concert is a triumphant finale to a week of learning, friends and fun as our Young Mannheim Symphonists dive into masterpieces and learn Historically Informed Performance (HIP) techniques and emotion.

It’s the perfect family-friendly concert in the gorgeous acoustics of Verbrugghen Hall.
