Windsor High Students Take A Sustainable Approach To Fashion
Windsor High School will operate another Fashion Exchange on Saturday, March 3 from the staff carpark.
Everything old is new again.
That’s exactly what the Windsor High School initiative is all about - supporting the environment by promoting fashion sustainability.
The latest Windsor High Fashion Exchange will take place in the staff carpark, or in the hall if it is wet out on March 3.
Windsor High School P&C Treasurer, Helen Palmer said the Fashion Exchange was a local opportunity for the Hawkesbury, Lower Blue Mountains and western Sydney to come and sell and accessories and perhaps pick up a few bargains of their own.
“Fast fashion is hugely wasteful, not to mention the conditions of some of the production are less than ideal, especially for women and girls who do the majority of sewing for fast fashion,” Ms Palmer said.
“Students these days are environmentally aware and they have the desire to care generally for the planet.
“A market means you can bring all with you; no having strangers come to your home to collect items, no having to place your faith in the post, and no uncertainty if the items are going to fit.
“At the market, you can try before you buy.
“It is not a long day and afterwards, visitors can come into Windsor and see what our lovely town has to offer.”
Stall holders will arrive and set up between 9 and 10 am before the markets will open to the general public between 10 am and 2 pm.
It costs $2 per person, under school age free, to enter the Fashion Exchange on the day.
Enjoy a delicious barbecue after bagging your bargains.
