Windsor High School To Host Fashion Exchange
Windsor High School’s Fashion Exchange kicks off at 12 noon tomorrow, Saturday, May 28.
Windsor High School will host a Fashion Exchange tomorrow, Saturday, May 28 to raise funds for their school.
Treasurer of their P&C, Helen Palmer said it was essentially a second-hand clothing market.
“Our students are very concerned about the environment and we wanted to cater to meet their expectations,” Ms Palmer said.
“As you know, students today are environmentally aware and concerned about the well being of the world around them.
“The Fashion Exchange is a response to their concerns and gives them a forum to demonstrate their concern.
“It is a school endorsed activity.
“Funds will provide additional cash cages - the school’s version of return-and-earn.
“A second cage is needed in another location in the school.”
Funds from the cash cage are used to fund student well-being activities conducted by the SRC.
Windsor High School students and teachers place their used cans and bottles into their cash cages and they are counted before being sent off to the regular return-and-earn.
Ms Palmer said the group wanted people to be very clear that this fundraiser truly was a community event.
“The really good thing about the Fashion Exchange is that it is open to the whole community; Windsor High does not just care abut its own students, it cares about the greater community,” Ms Palmer said.
“We are proud to be leading the way with this initiative.” The event will take place tomorrow, Saturday, May 28 from 12 noon to 4pm.
There is an entry fee of $2 per person at the gate as well as a barbecue and coffee cart on site.
A second Fashion Exchange is scheduled to take place in September.
