$75.5 Million Boundary Road Upgrade Moves To Design Phase
The Hilltops Shire Council Mayor, Dr Peter Gangemi and Hawksbury City Council Mayor, Sarah McMahon announce that the $75.5M upgrade of Boundary Road has moved into the design phase.
After being re-elected as Hawkesbury Mayor for another 12 months, Sarah McMahon hasn’t missed a stride, moving full steam ahead with the plans for Boundary Road.
Hawkesbury City Council and The Hills Shire Council have worked together to progress the $75.5 Million Boundary Road upgrade to the design phase, and Mayor McMahon was joined by Mayor of The Hills Shire Council, Dr Peter Gangemi to make the announcement.
The massive undertaking with see Boundary Road upgraded to a four-lane major collector road between Windsor Road and Old Pitt Town Road.
Proposed works include:
- Constructing the Boundary Road bridge over the Killarney Chain of Ponds;
- Traffic signals at the intersection of Brocklebank Street and Boundary and Commercial Roads;
- Constructing a roundabout at the intersection of Boundary, Harkness and Brahman Roads;
- Traffic signals at the intersection of George Street and Boundary and Menin Roads; and
- Traffic signals at the intersection of Boundary and Old Pitt Town Roads.
The Hills Shire Council and Hawkesbury City Council have committed to a 70:30 per cent split respectively for design costs for the shared road.
Mayor McMahon looks forward to another year filled with positive outcomes for the community, and congratulated her peer Deputy Mayor, Barry Calvert on his re-election.
She also thanked her Council colleagues for their ongoing support.
