$2M Upgrade Expands Veterinary Training Space

A new-look veterinary clinic, including theatre and radiology, will be boosted by a $2 million upgrade to TAFE NSW Richmond.

Member for Hawkesbury, Robyn Preston MP said the NSW Government’s latest investment will see the veterinary training space expanded to include an industry-standard theatre, radiology and consultation rooms.

“The veterinary nursing students of TAFE NSW Richmond will have access to a new training space which will help them better their skills and experience as they care for all kinds of animals,” Mrs Preston said.

“With demand for Veterinary Nurses rising following an increase in pet ownership, expanding vet training facilities allows TAFE NSW Richmond to increase its capacity and cater for more students in the future.

“The NSW Government is providing opportunities for people who want to get skilled for in-demand jobs and equipping them with the qualities employers are looking for.

“We know how important it is for TAFE campuses to have quality facilities and equipment, which will enhance education and employment pathways for students.”

Minister for Skills and Training, Alister Henskens said the NSW Government was leading the nation in supporting people to get the skills they needed for the jobs they want, which was helping grow the economy, securing a brighter future for the people of NSW.

“TAFE NSW trains 45 per cent of government funded TAFE students in Australia. It is the nation’s largest and best training provider and we have invested record funding in TAFE NSW to ensure it continues to deliver a pipeline of skilled and job-ready workers,” Mr Henskens said.

“Our record skills budget is delivering more fee-free training which is helping people find in-demand jobs and contributing to NSW’s low unemployment rate.”
