It was smiles all round at last year’s Christmas Tree sale at 1st Kings Langley.

Forget burning a pine-scented candle around your house this Christmas - get the real thing and support local Scouts.

More than 30 Scout groups across Sydney and the Southern Tablelands are sourcing quality, real Christmas trees to fundraise for the coming year and coordinating sales online.

Locally, 1st Kings Langley Group will take part again this year.

Organiser Katrina Lukac said the Christmas tree sales would raise funds for both equipment and upkeep of the groups’ hall as well as underwriting the cost of sending members to the 26th Australian Jamboree.

The 90-member-strong Kings Langley Group will send 17 members to Jamboree, in Maryborough, Queensland from January 6 to 15, 2025.

“This is my fourth year running the Christmas Tree sales but it’s an annual activity that goes back for years,” Katrina said.

“The trees always sell out so we strongly recommend people pre-order and avoid disappointment by emailing katrina.lukac@nsw.scouts.com.au.

“Trees are priced at $95 for a basic six-footer up to $110 (7-feet tall) and $130 (8 feet).

“They can be picked up on 7 and 8 and 14 and 15 December from 1st Kings Langley Scout Hall at 121 James Cook Drive, Kings Langley.

Purchasing a tree will help Scouts aged five to 25 continue to have fun and challenging opportunities to grow through adventure.

All fundraising contributes directly to the individual Scout Groups and their youth programs.
