Jacky Turano says The Jeremiah Project was pleased to partner with Hawkesbury City Council for the 2024 Mayoral Appeal.

This year, Hawkesbury Council has partnered with The Jeremiah Project for the Mayoral Christmas Appeal.

The Jeremiah Project is a local charity that supports homeless individuals and families in the Hawkesbury and across Sydney.

Jacky Turano from The Jeremiah Project said she was pleased to partner with Hawkesbury City Council for the 2024 Mayoral Appeal.

“The Jeremiah Project is a charity serving those in need in the streets of Windsor, Richmond, Mt Druitt, Blacktown and Parramatta,” Ms Turano said.

“With Christmas approaching, the team of volunteers will hold a Christmas party in each suburb and everyone that attends will receive a gift.

“Whether it’s a food hamper, children’s gift, homeless gift pack or a gift card, our mission is to give everyone hope this festive season.

“If you are in need of a food hamper or gift, please reach out to us info@thejeremiahproject.com.au.

Mayor Les Sheather said the Mayoral Appeal was an opportunity for the community to come together and support those in need.

“Christmas can be a fun and special time of year, but for some in our community it can be a real struggle just to find somewhere to stay and a warm meal,” Mayor Sheather said.

“While I understand that household budgets remain tight for many, even a small donation of a gift could make a real difference to a family or a child this Christmas.

If you would like to make a donation, unwrapped gifts can be dropped off in the special-market drop boxes until Friday, December 2024 at Council’s Administration Building.

“Hawkesbury residents have always been a generous bunch and ready to help someone in a time of need.

“Please consider giving generously to this year’s appeal.”

Donations of unwrapped gifts can be left in the special-market drop boxes until Friday, December 13 at Council’s Administration Building, Hawkesbury Central Library Windsor or Richmond Branch Library.

Shoppers can also drop off unwrapped gifts at Richmond Marketplace.

Gift ideas include board games, books, card games, clothes, gift vouchers from local stores, sporting equipment, tool kits, etc.
