Severe Rainfall Postpones Golden Easter Egg
The Golden Easter Egg series will conclude on Saturday, April 20 after severe rainfall and continued inclement weather.
Greyhound Racing NSW has officially rescheduled one of the country’s premier events following severe overnight rainfall and continuing inclement weather.
The Ladbrokes Golden Easter Egg series will now conclude on April 20, following the abandonment of Friday’s race meeting at Wentworth Park and Saturday’s race meeting where the semi-finals of the Group 1 Golden Easter Egg were to be contested.
Given the uncertainty around the weather, the need for remedial maintenance on the racing surface and participants travelling long distances to participate, it was decided an early decision was best for everyone.
The two race meetings will now be held today and tomorrow, Friday and Saturday, April 12 and 13, with the $350,000 final of the Group 1 Ladbrokes Golden Easter Egg to be held on Saturday, April 20.
Fresh nominations will be called for the heats of the Group 3 Ausure Ultra Sense and the GRNSW Masters events which were programmed for last week.
The heats will run today, Friday, April 12.
For the race meeting tomorrow, the four semi-finals of the Ladbrokes Golden Easter Egg will remain unchanged.
Fresh nominations will be called for the heats of the Group 1 Farrell’s Association Cup.
The finals of the Group 3 Magic Maiden and the Group 3 Simply Limelight New Sensation will be run as planned tomorrow, Saturday, April 13.
The finals of the Group 1 Ladbrokes Golden Easter Egg, the Group 1 Farrell’s Association Cup, the Group 3 Ultra Sense, the Group 3 Ambrosoli and the GRNSW Masters will be run at Wentworth Park on Saturday, April 20.
