Richmond Lions Christmas Market Just Two Weeks Away
Richmond Lions will host their Christmas Market on Saturday, December 14 at Clarendon Showground.
The Richmond Lions Club Christmas Market is just two weeks away.
With over 70 stalls, it is the perfect place to find a Christmas gift for even the hardest-to-buy-for friend or family member.
Richmond Lion Stephen Thompson said the club ran markets six or seven times throughout the year.
“They’re one of the fundraisers for the club, with two funding streams - stall holders, which helps with the funding of the club and catering which goes back into the community,” Mr Thompson said.
“We have regular stall holders and there will be new stall holders offering something fresh.”
They call it their Christmas markets because it is the last one for the year, but Mr Thompson said they were going to try and have Santa there so that families could have their photos taken with the big man in red.
A charity organisation themselves, Richmond Lions do what they can through the year to assist other community charity organisations as well as individuals.
Recently, they have given to The Women’s Cottage and the Hope for Youth Foundation.
They even paid for a young girl to attend a dance event, which she might otherwise not have been able to attend.
“We’re always giving and promoting the community,” Mr Thompson said.
Support local businesses this festive season and remember to take your phone along to snap a free photo with Santa; bring your pets too.
Last minute stall holders can contact Mr Thompson on 0415 647 226 to see if there is space for them to be part of the annual event.
