- We had to get up from our chair and walk over to the tv to change channels?
- Milk came in bottles
- You really had to be old to vote at 21
- we got mail delivered twice a day by a postman either riding a bicycle or walking
- there was no free medical
- we paid for things with pounds, shillings, and pence
- we wrote letters by hand- put them in envelopes - licked stamps and took them to the nearest post box for delivery
- we went to the FLICKS on Saturday
- we used our mouth to talk to people
- we knew all of the words to Advance Australia Fair, Waltzing Matilda and My Country
- Teenagers wore pegged pants, roped petticoats, and Brylcream
- We smiled and said G’day to strangers
- We shopped at Mark Foys, Farmers, Eric Anderson, ES& A bank, CBA bank, CBC bank, Bank of NSW, Rural bank, H.G.Palmer,Waltons, Nock & Kirby.
- We listen to Jack Davy, Bob Dyer, Andrea, Dita Cobb, Terry Dear, Amos & Andy, Smoky Dawson, Ward Austin on the the radio
- Our Kodak Box Brownie camera used film.
God bless yesterday AND for the wonderful memories and experiences we enjoyed even when we had nothing compared to what we enjoy today.
And one last thing.
Do you remember when we had DREAMS of the future ? Well, we are now here. And despite its problems, it's not a bad place to be.
