Pulse FM Celebrates Full Licence
PulseFM welcomes primary schools to broadcast as part of their new School Program.
After operating on a Temporary FM licence since December 2021, The Hawkesbury Community Media Network Association (PulseFM) received its full licence from ACMA to broadcast via the 89.9fm MHz frequency in the Windsor RA1 licence area.
Under the temporary licence, PulseFM streamed 24/7 via a multitude of streaming platforms including IHeart radio.
Station Manager, Kathryn Gene said the full licence meant less confusion for everyone.
“There were seven radio stations in the end,” Ms Gene said.
“Hopefully, it means we can get a coherent message out and relay information to the community that they want.”
Ms Gene said that she and the Board put the community first, reading from various print media publications for the community’s visually impaired via the Station’s Read Program and they have just started the School Program where a primary school visits and broadcasts for half an hour.
“It’s all about involving and including the community,” Ms Gene said.
The Station is committed to providing a diverse range of programming, including music, conversation, local national and international news, current affairs, sport, local topics and community events.
Station Chair, Richard Griffiths said the Board and management of PulseFM were excited by the recent ACMA announcement and felt privileged to be able to broadcast to the community under full licence.
“We look forward to providing an outstanding service to the community that will be entertaining, informative and relevant to the people of the Hawkesbury,” Mr Griffiths said.
“I would like to thank the Board, Station presenters, sponsors, volunteers and in particular our Station Manager Kathryn Gene for the hard work and dedication in ensuring PulseFM is at the forefront of the community radio in the Hawkesbury.”
