Protect Yourself Against Flu Season

As temperatures drop in the leadup to winter, we are reminded that flu season is well and truly underway.

Did you know that a flu vaccination can prevent illness in up to six to ten healthy adults under the age of 65?

Last year was one of the worst flu seasons on record in Australia since 2019, with a ten per cent increase in flu cases, so it is important that Aussies understand the benefits of the flu vaccination.

A few benefits include:

• Lower risk of complications; and

• Community protection.

Blooms The Chemist Windsor Riverview Pharmacist is joining Blooms nationwide to offer flu vaccinations at their pharmacies.

Riverview Pharmacist Theresa Kinch said that immunisation was the best protgection against influenza.

“We are urging all Hawkesbury customers to get their flu jab ahead of the winter months,” Ms Kinch said.

“Customers in Hawkesbury can book their flu vaccination at their local Blooms The Chemist through the website or over the phone.”

The vaccine is free for some Blooms The Chemist customers, including those aged 65 years and over, pregnant women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged six months or over, those aged six months and older with medical conditions and children between six months and five years.
