Operation backpack a success

Operation backpack gifts children the opportunity to excel in school and their lives through providing essential stationary and basics to start the school year off on the right foot. Running for over a decade, primary-school aged children across the country have overcome limitations and disadvantages, providing equality and a strong foundation for their education.

Generous shoppers at Richmond Marketplace have excelled in their contributions to the program at their collection dropoff point in the centre over the past month, offering hundreds of supplies including backpacks, stationary, lunch boxes, water bottles and more to the program.

Richmond Marketplace Senior Marketing Manager, Tracey Thomas, extended her gratitude to the residents of the Hawkesbury for their contributions, alongside the St Vincent de Paul Society volunteers who will be taking on the process of distributing the supplies to families within the community over the next few weeks. The program will be running again next year, hosted by Richmond Marketplace.
