Nina’s Preloved Books Joins South Windsor’s Businesses
Nina’s Preloved Books is an interactive new bookstore for South Windsor
Most of us look at the things we’re not using as items to be tossed out, but not Nina from Nina’s Preloved Goods.
This amazing woman is so community-minded that she looks at everything as an opportunity to connect with those around her and to help others connect with each other as well.
“There’s a lot of lonely people in this area,” Niina said.
“It’s all about people feeling comfortable and making new friends and learning.
“I put in a chess board and board games for people to play.
“One man came in and met another man and now they’re going to volunteer together at the same place.
“We’ve had two different dogs come in and have a look around.
“A man was looking at a globe of the world.”
And that was just at the store’s grand opening.
For now, the store will operate from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm on weekdays.
“I want it to be wonderful.
“There would be over 20,000 books here.”
Nina has something for everyone, from bibles to cooking, gardening, home, novels, biographies, as well as reading material for young people, youths and children.
“So far, everyone is loving it.
“I even had a mechanic give me a flashing light to put out front to let people know what was going on.”
Nina has already been approached by people offering to donate books to her store.
She would love to include some Indigenous books in what is on offer.
Danielle Armytage was one of the customers at the grand opening on Monday, September 19 and she said the atmosphere was great.
“They were all friendly and happy to be opening the new store,” Ms Armytage said.
If you haven’t already visited Nina’s book store, take some time to do so soon.
It is just one minute’s walk from Nina’s Preloved Goods in the arcade.
