Free, confidential service Head to Health is available to support people experiencing mental health issues during the festive season.

It may be the most wonderful time of the year, but for some it can also bring about feelings of loneliness, family tension, grief, overwhelming stress about a new year and financial pressures.

Fortunately, mental health support is still available in Hawkesbury over the festive period for those who need it.

Medicare Mental Health Centre, Head to Health is a free, confidential service from the Australian Government, delivered by Neami National for people who are experiencing distress, feeling overwhelmed or are worried about themselves or someone they care about.

The free service provides calm, caring and inclusive mental health and wellbeing support to help reduce stress or navigate a crisis and, where relevant, connect you with ongoing support.

Referrals are not necessary, nor do you need to be an Australian citizen or have a Medicare card to receive support.

Hawkesbury Head to Health is located at 1 Musson Lane, Richmond and is open:

  • Thursday and Saturday, from 1 pm to 7 pm;

  • Monday to Wednesday and Fridays, from 1 pm to 5 pm; and

  • Public holidays from 1 pm to 7 pm (Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day).

The Head to Health phone service also offers free support every weekday on 1800 595 212 Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 5 pm, excluding public holidays.
