Local Council Election 4th December 2021

It’s all systems go for our local council election, which is being held on Saturday 4th December 2021.

For those not yet in the know, local councils are responsible for: public health (including health inspections of shops), local roads and footpaths, street signs and bus stops, local kindergartens and pre-schools, local libraries, local sports fields and playgrounds, community services such as meals-on-wheels, building regulations and development and garbage collection.

Local councils are not responsible for schools, hospitals, State conservation and environment, highways, railways and public transport, public works, agriculture and fishing, industrial relations, community services, sport and recreation, consumer affairs, police, prisons and emergency services.

The following are the polling places in the Hawkesbury area: Bilpin District Hall, Bligh Park Public School, Comleroy Road Public School, Ebenezer Public School, Glossodia Community and Neighbourhood Centre, Grose View Public School, Hawkesbury High School, Hobartville Public School, Horrie Eley Memorial Hall, Kurmond Public School, Kurrajong Public School, Maraylya Public School, McGraths Hill Community Centre, North Richmond Community Centre, Oakville Public School, Pitt Town Public School, Richmond Public School, St Albans School Of Arts, St Andrews Uniting Church Auditorium Richmond, The Deerubbin Centre, Vineyard Public School, Wilberforce Public School, Windsor Park Public School, Windsor South Public School, Wisemans Ferry Public School, and Yarramundi Community Centre.
