Do you have a story just begging to be told?
Why not enter the Living Stories 2023 writing competition opening on March 17?
It has a prize pool of over $10,000 and is open to writers aged 10 years and older.
All you have to do is submit a short story, poem or essay responding to the theme “the other city”.
Each written piece can be no longer than 500 words and will be judged by panels from within your local community.
Winners from each Local Government Area will progress to a second panel to vie for the top prize.
Very successful last year, the Living Stories writing competition is open to residents of Western Sydney, Wingecarribee Shire and Wollondilly Shire.
Categories are 10 to 12 years; 13 to 15 years; 16 to 18 years; and adults.
Coinciding with the prize, WestWords will run free writing workshops across Western Sydney and online.
Entries close at midnight on Sunday, April 30 and can only be submitted via a link on WestWord’s website.
