Hawkesbury local, Brooke Gibbs is one of the 18 NSW 2024 finalists for the Rotary Inspirational Awards

The finalists in the 2024 Rotary Inspirational Women’s Awards (RIWA) were announced at the NSW Parliament House, Sydney last week.

The Hon Jodie Harrison MP, Minister for Women, announced the 18 NSW 2024 finalists for RIWA, presented by the Rotary Clubs of NSW.

These awards are for non-Rotary women in our communities throughout the State.

Hawkesbury local, Brooke Gibbs made the list in the Healthcare category.

Ms Gibbs serves as a Wellbeing and Health In-reach Nurse in primary and secondary schools, supporting a population of 1500 students and their families across four schools in Windsor.

With exceptional dedication, she coordinates assessments and referrals for children and families facing complex physical, mental and psychosocial challenges.

Ms Gibbs goes above and beyond in her role, providing transportation, seeking funding options and even working as a caseworker when needed.

Her commitment extends to community engagement outside work hours and pursuing further education in Child Development and Healthcare Leadership.

Ms Gibb’s ambition to develop a youth health sector for her local health district demonstrates her unwavering dedication to improving healthcare access for her community.

Minister Harrison said the Awards were a fantastic way of highlighting the enormous contribution of women in both our urban and rural communities across NSW.

“Each and every finalist deserves recognition for the tireless and generous work they do in their communities,” Minister Harrison said.

“They are role models and a true inspiration.

“I congratulate them on their nomination.”
