Free flood waste collections continue until the end of the month.
Free flood waste collections will continue for flood-affected residents until bookings close on Wednesday, November 30. Flood waste received at the Waste Management Facility between December 1 and December 31 will incur a reduced fee. Standard charges apply for waste that is not flood waste and for properties that are not flood-affected. Loads containing asbestos or other contaminated waste will be rejected. Register for flood waste collection through Council’s website http://ow.ly/VrtV50KMB1X or by calling Customer Service on 4560 4444.
Waste will not be collected if you haven’t registered. The Waste Facility is located at 1 The Driftway, South Windsor and is open to Hawkesbury LGA residents from 8 am to 4 pm, seven days per week (excluding Public Holidays). Take proof of address, such as a Driver’s Licence or Rates Notice with you. Check out Retro Rosie’s Halloween Spooktacular from 4 pm on October 30 to 9 pm on October 31 at 6 Friendship Place, Bligh Park. Retro Rosie is a unique 1960 Retro Cafe Bar on wheels, serving Hawkesbury with great coffee, old-fashioned milkshakes, homestyle lemonade, sweet treats, and good old-school food and service.
Hawkesbury Headquarters Rural Fire Brigade wants to light up your local brigade for the Christmas season, so if you have any spare or unwanted lights or decorations why not help spread some Christmas cheer? You can drop your offerings to the station on Monday nights from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm or email headquartersfb@optusnet.com.au to arrange an alternate time.
Hawkesbury City Council will host a free community workshop - Waterwise Gardens on Sunday, November 20 from 2 pm to 4 pm in the Tebbutt room at the Deerubbin Centre, 300 George Street, Windsor. The workshop is for residents who live within the Hawkesbury LGA and is full of ideas about planning a garden to manage water well, regardless of the style.
