Hawkesbury Schools Benefit From Funding
Windsor Park Public School is among the 11 Hawkesbury schools to benefit from the Metro Renewal Program.
Eleven projects across the Hawkesbury region have benefited from an injection of funds as part of the NSW Government’s $120 million Metro Renewal Program.
The funding will see new and improved school facilities across Hawkesbury communities.
The program was driven by what school communities wanted and included works such as upgrades to canteens, toilet facilities and playground refurbishments, ensuring that all students across the State had access to modern learning facilities.
Minister for Education and Early Learning, Sarah Mitchell said it was so important to prioritise the delivery of modern facilities to all schools across the State.
“Schools across NSW are receiving upgrades to school halls, canteens and more,” Ms Mitchell said.
“The NSW Government funding will provide a boost, not only to local school infrastructure projects and local economy by supporting local tradies, but also help make sure these schools continue to be a proud part of their communities.”
Schools receiving upgrades from the Metro Renewal Program include:
- Freemans Reach Public School - canteen upgrade.
- Glenorie Public School - canteen upgrade.
- Hillside Public School - student amenities upgrade.
- Kurrajong East Public School - playground refurbishment.
- Oakville Public School - learning space and computer room upgrade.
- Windsor Public School - sport court upgrade.
- Hobartville Public School - administration and staff facilities upgrade.
- Bligh Park Public School - toilet upgrade.
- Windsor Park Public School - toilet upgrade.
- Brewongle Environmental Education - kitchen upgrade.
Projects are identified by school communities and co-funded by the school and the NSW Government.
