Spanning all capital cities as well as rural, regional and suburban towns, the Australian Trades Small Business Champion Awards judged according to stringent criteria by an independent expert panel and over multiple judging rounds.

Awards Founder and Managing Director of Precedent Products, which coordinate the Awards, Steve Loe said the overall quality of submissions received this year was very high.

“The ultimate formation of our 2024 shortlist was no easy task for our judges,” Mr Loe said.

When the Champion judges evaluate entries, they consider all aspects of a business, its strategies, growth, eco-friendliness, innovation, customer service and community sport, to name but some of the criteria.

“The Australian trades sector is arguably among the most complex, but its also among the most reliant and certainly hardworking.

“It’s truly a privilege to help spotlight those in the Hawkesbury region who are demonstrating excellence in their trade and encouraging future generations of Aussie tradies, too.

“The following rounds of judging will be just as intense as initial rounds as we continue to evaluate the achievements of this year’s finalists, to reach just one winner per category.”

The nine finalists from Hawkesbury are:

“A career in trades typically means long days and exhausting labour and for owners this is an addition to all the pressures that come with running a small business,” Mr Loe said.

“It can be a taxing career and those who perform to a high standard ought to be acknowledged, which is what the Awards is all about.”
