Carrington Road Stockfeeds was just one of the businesses dealt a harsh hand during the floods.

They not only lost about $40k worth of stockfeed, but had to evacuate from their home and business.

Business owner Greg Teale said they were hard hit, with most of the feed unable to be sold.

While much of the feed had been slightly wet, it could be of use to those with animals to feed and nothing to give them.

“Five or six people got hay to feed their horses,” Mr Teale said.

“Dog rescue people got the dog biscuits.

“A pig farmer took bags of feed.”

In fact, Mr Teale donated several truck loads of feed to Sultana Farm Fresh Pork to feed their pigs.

Around a dozen people and their animals benefited from the feed that Mr Teale was unable to sell, but only too willing to donate to those who could use it.

As devastating as the impact of the floods was on his business, Mr Teale did not allow that to pull him under.

Instead, he did something truly inspiring.

He did his part to create hope where devastation lived.

“We lost three or four days, but we’re back to normal now,” Mr Teale said.

“It took a while to sort through everything, but we had plenty of help.

“The help we got was amazing.”
