Things are really amping up for the group formerly known as H.A.R.T. “We changed the organisation name to HART Youth Inc as our previous name was too close to an already established arts group that mentioned ‘HAWKESBURY’,” group member, Jasmine Yuen-Carrucan said.
“We didn’t know they were established at the time, but we’re loving our new name and how everything is going so far.”
The showcase is set for Wednesday, December 6 at the Richmond Regent at 6 pm and the digital auditions have yielded 20 acts in all, with a bit of everything from singing, dancing and instrumentalists through to short theatre segments and a magician.
“We’re hoping for a fun night because it isn’t a competition,” Jasmine said.
“It is a great chance for families and friends to see young people they know up on stage performing.
“We also have a few of the solo artists, who have only just met through the showcase, getting together to do a song which is the main point of HART - trying to connect young, creative people.”
Over the past few months, the group has run a couple of fundraisers, selling fairy floss and decorating gingerbread houses to raise awareness of their new venture and to feed themselves on positive comments from the community.

“During the showcase, we will also be talking about The UGLY MUG HART Gallery,” Jasmine said.
“We’ve renovated the room behind the Ugly Mug and prepared the walls for any young artist who would like a place to show their art.
“Opening night for this is the 17th of January and we will be using the next couple of months to source the artwork.”
