Windsor’s Deerubbin Park was officially opened on Wednesday, April 19.

After damage from multiple floods and ongoing delays, Windsor’s Deerubbin Park is finally open to the public.

The park is situated along the iconic Hawkesbury River and with sporting fields, a new carpark, walking paths and a wonderful dog park, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Hawkesbury’s Citizen of the Year, Diane Russell cut the ribbon and officially opened the park on Wednesday, April 19.

Local Darug woman, Erin Wilkins gave a moving Welcome to Country for the official event, as well.

There was free face painting, free coffee and a delicious sausage sizzle to celebrate the upgrades to the park.

The new park was made possible because of a $1.3 million investment from Hawkesbury City Council.

Historically, the park has been used year-round for rugby training and competition, dog training and personal training activities.

It also contains part of the Great River Walk recreation trail.
