Creating An Emergency Plan
Red Cross Australia gives you the tools needed to create a comprehensive emergency plan.
There aren’t many communities within Australia that have been harder hit by catastrophic natural disasters as the Hawkesbury, but we’re nothing if not resilient. Thankfully, we can also be prepared for the worst.
Red Cross Australia put out an emergency checklist guide to help people create their own survive-and-recover kit during Emergency Ready Week. Preparing for emergencies beforehand reduces stress and gives one a sense of security, like picking up that overnight bag on the way to the hospital.
Involve everyone in the family in the planning, even the kids. You can find the guide at https://bit.ly/3ztO4eC.
Don’t forget to download the Get Prepared App to help with your emergency preparation. The app equips you for:
- Establishing a network of support;
- Reviewing the likeliest risks around your area;
- Creating checklists of things to do to prepare your household emergency plan;
- Saving a PDF of your emergency plan so you can print and share it with your family and other interested parties.
