When Jeanette Starr from Little River Art Studio saw the facebook post asking for a place to land a helicopter to bring in essentials, she responded.
“James from Uno Pizzeria and Pizza Bar posted something on facebook,” Ms Starr said.
“I used to have a helicopter, so I offered the use of my helipad. “I didn’t do much, that’s it.”
Ms Star did do more than that, though.
After offering the use of her helipad, she also found herself offering rooms to Mr Chircop and his father-in-law.
“I discovered that James was sleeping at the restaurant,” Ms Starr said. “He lives on the other side of the river.
“The next day, his father-in-law was shipped over to help him.” Ms Starr’s studio was also flooded.
“Lots of people just came and helped clean it all up,” she said.
“It’s a great community spirit.
“It just makes you happy that you’ve got that community that just jumps in and helps.”
