Hawkesbury town squares can expect revitalization with the Western Parkland City Livability Program confirming upgrades for Windsor, South Windsor, and Richmond. The Livability program has enabled grants of $18.75 million per Council to be passed onto the region from three levels of government through the Western Sydney City Deal. The program was launched with the intention of providing upgrades in the areas of infrastructure, environmental spaces, and fostering the growth of social economic growth within the region.
Windsor will receive upgrades highlighting the heritage, boulevards, and popular hotspots. South Windsor will receive new and improved upgrades to help create the environment of a contemporary town centre, and Richmond will be focusing on growing into a cultural destination within Hawkesbury.
Residents will be able to look forward to improvements including accessibility to pathways with high pedestrian use, accessibility to parking, an abundance of trees and environmentally friendly landscaping upgrades, shop front makeovers, lighting improvements, additional seating, and visual immersion of new local artwork in public spaces.
