Free trees are available to be planted in your backyard or on other private land as part of the program.
State government is partnering with Bunnings Warehouse to give away 25,600 free trees to Greater Sydney households until October.
Applications can be made online via the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment website. Bunnings will be in contact when trees are ready to be collected and planted.
“Our tree giveaway with Bunnings is open to all 33 local government areas throughout Greater Sydney between these months, allowing 10,500 eligible households to get their hands on more shade, privacy and fruit trees for their home,” Ms Preston said.
