Applications Open For 2024 Young Mannheim Symphonists Programs

Applications are now open for the 2024 Young Mannheim Symphonists programs - Australia’s finest youth orchestra experience devoted to historically informed performance of classical and Romantic music.

Co-directed by Rachael Beesley and Nicole van Bruggen with world-class faculty, the YMS National and State Academies (formerly Intensives) give secondary and tertiary students and emerging musicians the chance to discover the magic of approaching music with appropriate performance style.

Through workshops, tutorials, side-by-side rehearsals and a final performance, participants are inspired by how the music comes to life, deepening their passion, expertise and understanding.

The programs are recommended for young secondary and tertiary students aged between 15 and 23 years, though younger students may apply.

Dates include:

• YMS 2024 QLD State Academy - April 2 to 6 in Brisbane
• YMS 2024 National Academy - July 8 to 13 in Melbourne
• YMS 2024 NSW State Academy - October 1 to 5 in Sydney

Application deadline for National Early Bird and Queensland is Sunday, December 17 and the National and NSW deadline is Sunday, February 18, 2024.

Early Bird applicants receive a $25 discount if accepted to the National Academy.
